So I heard on the radio a mom was suing Chuck E. Cheese because it is an illegal gambling ring for children. Her claim is that because the games don’t give out tickets always and they are all about chance and therefore illegal. and that since games like skew ball and whack a mole are games of skill an no longer available they are strictly gambling rings!
Um I don’t know which cheese she is referencing but ours gives a ticket when you put the token in. And My cheese has skee ball, whack a mole, basketball, and a water gun game which all require hand eye coordination.
But that’s not my beef. When did we become a country where your right to choose is to sue and close down a choice. I am pretty sure Chuck E Cheese is not the only pizza joint in her town. I am also pretty sure most pizza places that have games are purely arcade games that require no skill set nor do they give out tickets/prizes no matter what your score.
Hey lady, if you don’t like it don’t go there! There is your choice. No one is forcing you to go. No one is saying there are no other options to a pizza place/arcade place for you. But his bestie’s birthday is there? Well that again is your choice! That’s the beauty of being a parent in America- we can choose what, where and when our children do just about anything. Hell what’s next? She doesn’t like the teacher or curriculum at her local school and instead of homeschooling or private school she sues to abolish public school? It’s getting out of hand here people.
You want to teach your children something? Teach them personal responsibility. Teach them the freedom of choice and how to make good decisions. Teach them that in life there are temptations all around but to be a good strong person you have to rise above. Focus more on that and less on censoring their world. At the end of the day there will always be the path of wrong decisions and at some point they will have to choose a path without you. And you too grow up a little. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean the whole world feels the same.
